Yo-Kai watch is huge in Japan. It’s reached Dragon Quest levels of kids trying to skip school to buy the new games and shows no signs of slowing down. Nintendo and Level-5 are hoping to capture this fandom in America and are launching both the anime and first 3DS game in our neck of the woods. Steve talks to self-proclaimed “Super Yo-Kai Fan” Dermot about his thoughts on the unique RPG mechanics and heavy themes the game brings to the table as well as if it has a chance catching on out west.
And if you can’t get enough of Yo-Kai Watch, be sure to check out our review.
The official podcast for HardcoreGamer.com, The Sitdown is an intimate one-on-one conversation about a single game. Generally in the form of a review or preview, the writer who’s been playing the game sits down with our host to discuss it in finer detail. We’ll always choose an interesting, new game, generally before its launch for this briskly informative conversation.
