Thumper is awesome and everyone should have the ability to play it.  Originally released on PS4 with PS VR support and PC, and quickly picking up the VR option on the latter platform a few months later, it also landed on Switch back in May.  That only left out Xbox One, but that's about to change on August 18 when Thumper infects Microsoft's console with its brutal rhythms.  While Thumper may look like some type of chromed-out endless runner, it's actually a music game where the track acts as the groove in a record and you play the controller like an instrument to navigate the beat.  Once you understand how the courses are strung together you can blow through complicated sections of track, stomping the glowing pads and tearing around corners without missing a beat while your eyes start to water at the blinding speed.  With the controls consisting of four directions and a single button it would have been a perfect arcade game, way back when those were still a thing, but instead it's an epic trip through hours of ambient, clanking, pounding rhythmic violence.  And now it's coming to Xbox One, so if you've got a modern console at all there's no excuse to miss one of the highlights of this generation of gaming.
