Four-player co-op comes to Titanfall 2 in the next free DLC drop.

Titanfall 2 may have an excellent single player campaign and am impressive multiplayer suite, but it didn't come with a co-op mode. Well, that's all about to change in the next free DLC drop, Operation Frontier Shield.

The DLC introduces Frontier Defense, a new four-player co-op mode that tasks players with defending their harvester against five waves of enemies. Earning in-game cash, players can purchase tools like batteries, sentries, and more to aide them in their defense. Frontier Defense also ushers in Aegis Ranks for Titans, which unlock powerful upgrades for them (Aegis Ranks only apply to Frontier Defense). At the time of launch five maps (Homestead, Forwardbase Kodai, War Games, Rise, and Blackwater Canal) will be playable in Frontier Defense with more being made available in the future.

Like previous DLC drops, Operation Frontier Shield comes with a remastered map from the original game. This time it's Rise's turn. With towering walls and long corridors, Rise is an excellent map for infantry and Titans. The DLC also comes with a menagerie of new purchasable Warpaints for for weapons and Titans.

Operation Frontier Shield is available to download for free on July 25.
