Splatoon is chock-full of surprises, isn't it? Today, Nintendo announced there will be two new stages coming to the game. We knew there would be more content on the way but it's surprising at how soon. While there's no current release date for the two stages, they do look battle-ready.

Piranha Pit is set within an excavation site with all sorts of conveyor belts and pulley systems in the way. Inklings will have a tough time traversing the surface since they'll be so busy trying to uncover fossils. The other new stage is called Ancho-V and looks to be a video game-related location. Whether Inklings dream of becoming game developers or just love gaming, they'll dig this new stage. Inklings do love their video games after all. It's got a lot of fan platforms which is very reminiscent of the single player campaign.

In addition to new stages comes a few updates to the system. There will be some server maintenance tomorrow from 4:50 PM - 6:00 PM PT. Players will experience downtime for a couple of hours. Splatoon will get back to its splatastic ways in no time.

In the meantime, take a look at this fresh new video released to promote the two stages coming soon as well as some screenshots.
