Are you a Switch owner who loved New Pokémon Snap and are hungry for more photography-based gameplay, but also want it to have more of an apocalyptic twist? Well, that's an oddly specific request, but Playism and Origame Digital have you covered! Fresh off its IGF nominations, Last year's indie hit Umurangi Generation is now set to arrive on the Nintendo platform next month, which will task Switch players with snapping pics in a more...intense environment, let's say.

While we don't have an English trailer yet, the current one below still lets players know what they're in for, as you set out across a future version of New Zealand as a courier who takes whatever photographs the client demands, unlocking new lenses, equipment, and tools along the way that allow you to take more creative pictures, and hopefully earn more cash. But it becomes clear that there's a current crisis underway, and that would be...well, going into spoilers.

The video does show one particularly notable addition for the game's Switch port, though, and that would be the use of optional gyro controls. Yes, in handheld mode, you'll be able to use the Switch like more of an actual camera, rotating it in order to get the current shot and allowing for a wider variety of photos. Umurangi Generation comes to the Switch on June 5, and there's no mention yet if the game's Macro DLC will be included, but stay tuned for any possible info on that.
