UPDATE THREE: Starbreeze Publishing and Behaviour Digital today confirmed that a “special bundle” for Dead by Daylight has been released on Steam. The bundle, which is only available in the U.S., includes the Saw Chapter and the 2004 Saw movie.

In its press release, Starbreeze and Behaviour also revealed that the Saw Chapter is priced at $6.99.

Further details have emerged on the contents of the Saw Chapter, too, including confirmation that The Pig is one of Jigsaw’s protégés, Amanda Young. Dead by Daylight’s website has been updated with the Saw Chapter, which shows the different abilities that David Tapp and Amanda Young possess in the title.

You can find them posted below.

David Tapp

  • Tenacity: “There is nothing stopping you. Your ferocious tenacity in dire situations allows you to crawl faster and recover at the same time.”

  • Detective’s Hunch: “Unlocks potential in one’s Aura reading ability. When completing a Generator, Auras of Generators, Chests and Totems within range are revealed to you for three seconds. If you are holding a map that can track objectives, objectives revealed by Detective’s Hunch are added to the map.”

  • Stake Out: “Getting close to the killer fills you with determination. When standing within the Killer Terror Radius for some time and not in a Chase, you gain a Token up to a maximum. When Stake Out has at least one Token, Good Skill Checks are considered Great Skill Checks and consume one Token.”

Amanda Young

  • Hangman’s Trick: “Your ingenious modifications to Hooks prevent tampering and permanent damage. Hooks destroyed by sabotage or sacrifices repair after a short moment. Gain a notification when someone starts Sabotaging the Hooks.”

  • Surveillance: “Unlocks potential in one’s Aura reading ability. The last regressing generators’ Auras are revealed to you.”

  • Make Your Choice: “When a survivor rescues another from a hook at least 24 meters away from the killer, Make your Choice triggers and confronts the survivor with a Skill Check. A failed Skill Check damages the rescuer.”

UPDATE TWO: Behaviour Interactive has tweeted in the last hour to say that it is still working to fix the issue that PS4 users are encountering with the new DLC.

UPDATE ONE: Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive has provided an update on an issue that PlayStation 4 players in Europe and Australia are experiencing with the Saw Chapter DLC.

“To PS4 players in Europe and Australia, the game update unlocking the Saw chapter when purchased will be activated in the next [few] hours,” Behaviour Interactive tweeted. “Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”

ORIGINAL STORY: Behaviour Interactive on Monday revealed that DLC based on the fan-favorite horror franchise Saw would be coming to Dead by Daylight.

The ‘Saw Chapter’ introduces a new killer in the form of Jigsaw apprentice The Pig, as well as bringing Detective David Tapp from James Wan’s 2004 cult classic as one of Dead by Daylight’s newest survivors.

Dead by Daylight fans will also see the Gideon Meatpacking Plant, which played a crucial part in the Saw franchise, as a new map for the title.

All of the content from the Saw Chapter can be viewed below in Dead by Daylight’s latest trailer.

“The Pig is here to create a whole new version of hell for all survivors,” Behaviour Interactive said. “Mentored by Jigsaw, she comes carrying Reverse Bear Traps into the Realm of the Entity. “So if you’re gonna play, you have to accept that the stakes are high.”

Dead by Daylight’s killers and survivors have featured both original characters to those from classic horror franchises, including Halloween, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and A Nightmare on Elm Street.

The Saw Chapter will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on January 23.

Last year, Behaviour Interactive confirmed that Dead by Daylight had sold over three million copies to date.
