Koei Tecmo released a 17-minute gameplay overview of its upcoming Hyrule Warriors Legends, and providing an extended look for fans to demonstrate how the Legend of Zelda spinoff's Dynasty Warriors-style action translates to the 3DS.

The video is hosted by the game's producer, Yosuke Hayashi, and voice actress Ruriko Aoki, who take turns handling the controls. Each demonstrates the different characters players can choose from, like series mainstays Link and Zelda. The game will feature additional characters over the Wii U version of the game, such as the King of Hyrule, Tetra, Toon Link, Skull Kid and most notably, Linkle, a female version of male protagonist Link; however, players will be able to transfer these new characters from their 3DS back to the Wii U game, as well.

Hyrule Warriors Legends releases on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on January 21, but North American players will need to wait until March 25 to get their hands on it.
