Destiny 2 just had it's huge gameplay reveal, and Hardcore Gamer was on the floor to check it out.

During the week, we got to go hands-on with Destiny 2, and we have some footage we'd like to show you. At the recent event, we got to try out one of Destiny 2's new strikes, and one of it's new multiplayer modes.

The strike is known as The Inverted Spire. The Red Legion has set up a dig site on Nessus, one of the game's new worlds, and something is quite fishy about it. Worried about what the Red Legion may be up to, Zavalla orders you and two other Guardians to investigate. The Inverted Spire is about a twenty minute mission with large environments to fight in and plenty of set-piece moments.

Countdown is the new multiplayer mode, and is, essentially, Search & Destroy. The attacking team needs to plant a bomb and protect it, and the defending team must defuse it. However, the round will also end if an entire team is eliminated.

Destiny 2 is out September 8 on PS4 and Xbox One with a PC version coming out sometime this year. Be sure to check out our in-depth preview of the game as well as our interview with DeeJ, Destiny's community manager.
