Back on the Nintendo 64, Donkey Kong made a huge impact with such an enjoyable platforming experience. We all have fond memories of playing the game but one of the lasting moments comes in the form of a song-- a rap song to be precise. The DK Rap captured us all with its infectious rhythm, easy lyrics to follow, and a verse for every member of the DK crew.

Now, the team at Playtonic, led by composer Grant Kirkhope, has taken the classic tune and custom fit it for the upcoming Yooka-Laylee. Learn more about this awesome duo and a couple of their friends found throughout the game. Its bars are being spit hotter than Hailfire Peaks (an obvious reference to Banjo-Tooie, another title developed by Playtonic team members).

While this Yooka-Laylee rap serves its purpose of being entertaining, it does so much more. Those anticipating its release get to see some of the characters in action and gain a bit of backstory as to what will happen. It is also basically a huge advertisement to get old school fans of Donkey Kong 64 and other games of the era back into having some fun. Yooka-Laylee will become available on April 11 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Take a listen to the rap below.
